Cabbage and Cranberry Salad
On the Day of Independence, I am evacuated from the kitchen and my husband takes over to prepare the meat for the Barbecue. He is very serious about the matter and I am not allowed to have a say concerning the preparations because only men know about these issues (Yeah right…).
But I do prepare salads and this time I have made a cabbage salad with a wonderful dressing.
I love this dressing because it combines mustard and sweetness that goes very well with Cranberries.
It is perfect for the Barbecue and it also has a version for lazy people.
Ingredients:
1 small cabbage thinly cut into stripes
3 grated carrots
2-3 handfuls of Cranberries (optional)
Dressing:
6 spoons olive oil
1 tsp. sugar
1 tsp. mustard
1 tsp. mayonnaise
1 tsp. crushed garlic
Crushed black pepper
Salt
Preparation:
1. Put the cabbage and the carrots and the Cranberries in a Medium bowl
2. Mix the ingredients of the dressing, drizzle the dressing over the salad 4 hours before serving and mix gently
3. The lazy version: use packets of chopped cabbage from the supermarket.
