Chicken meatball in sauce
These are so yummy! The meatballs soak up the delicious sauce. Kids love these. My husband grabs a meatball straight out of the pot, tasting to make sure that its “ok”. Before I know it, the entire pot is gone!
These are honestly the best meatballs in the world. You have to try them!
Makes 4 servings
Ingredients:
For the meatballs:
500 grams ground chicken
1 carrot, grated
1 small onion, chopped and sautéed
1 clove of garlic, chopped and sautéed with the onion
1/2 tsp baking soda
1 Tbsp ketchup
1 Tbsp sweet chili sauce
1/3 cup breadcrumbs / matzo flour
1 Tbsp flour
1 Tbsp chicken bouillon
Ground black pepper
Salt
For the sauce:
1 onion, chopped
1 clove of garlic, chopped
2 cups boiling water
1 tsp flour
1 Tbsp tomato paste
1 Tbsp honey
1 Tbsp paprika
Pinch of turmeric
1 Tbsp chicken bouillon
Ground black pepper
Salt
Preparation:
1. Place all the meatball ingredients in a bowl and mix well. Wet your hands first so the mixture doesn’t stick to your hands. Form balls and refrigerate for around an hour.
2. Pour 3 Tbsp of oil in a hot pan and add the onion. Sauté for around two minutes, then add the garlic for a quick sauté, then the flour and stir until it’s completely dissolved.
3. In a small bowl, mix water and spices and add to the onion. Lower the heat and cook for around 5 minutes.
*4. In the meantime, oil hands and quickly reform the meatballs and add to the sauce. Cook for 20-25 minutes on low-medium heat.
