French toast with cheese
This is one of those recipes that can’t really be called a “recipe” because it’s more of a nice way to serve dinner than an actual recipe.
I’m not reinventing the wheel here but it’s nice to be reminded of good things once in a while.
Only 5 minutes to prepare and everyone likes it. The kids eat everything on their plates, and it’s a great way to use up leftover challah that no one wants to eat.
A simple recipe that comes out great.
Ingredients:
13 slices of challah bread
2 large eggs
13 slices of cheese of choice
2 Tbsp milk
Ground black pepper
Salt
Preparation:
1. Place a slice of cheese on each slice of challah, followed by another slice of challah on top. Slice in half.
2. In a deep dish, beat together eggs, milk and seasoning.
3. Heat 3-4 Tbsp of oil in a pan. Briefly dip both sides of the challah in the egg mixture and fry in the pan until golden on both sides. Remove and let drain on a plate lined with paper towels.
