French Toast with Cinnamon Sugar

What’s better on a weekend morning than eating soft golden cubes of delicious French toast tossed in cinnamon sugar?
This is a really easy recipe that is guaranteed to be a crowd pleaser. A small tweak makes all the difference here. Challah cubes soaked in a mixture of eggs, cream, and milk.
A delicately sweetened French toast with hints of cinnamon sugar. A dreamy recipe that’ll take you 5 minutes to make and that everyone will enjoy.

Makes 4 servings

Ingredients:

5 small challah rolls / 4 long rolls
3 medium eggs / 2 large eggs
60 ml whipping cream (1/4 cup)
60 ml milk (1/4 cup)
40 g sugar (2 Tbsp)

1 very heaped Tbsp sugar
1/2 tsp cinnamon

Maple syrup

Preparation:

1. Cut the rolls into cubes.

2. Beat the eggs, cream, milk and sugar. Dunk the cubes of bread in the egg mixture, heat 3-4 Tbsp of oil in a pan and fry the cubes on both sides until golden. This is best done in batches because there are a lot of cubes. When done one batch, transfer to a bowl and move on to the next batch.

3. Mix sugar and cinnamon together and toss the cubes in the cinnamon sugar.

4. Drizzle with maple syrup before serving.

Dig in!

Good to know…
This is tastiest when fresh, but if you’re making it for kids, believe me they’ll love it even hours later. You can use any bread you have at home. The cubes should be thick, not thin. Watch the video and see how I made it.
