Jachnun in cholent
I’m assuming that everyone knows how to make cholent. There are several good recipes on the site.
I want to talk about jachnun, which I think is the best addition to cholent, especially for kids. It’s a great opportunity to make it since the oven is already on low heat all night, so why not put the jachnun inside? Everyone will be licking their plates clean!
Kids absolutely adore this. I recommend keeping jachnun in the freezer during the winter months, so you have it ready for cholent season.
Ingredients:
7 – 8 frozen jachnun
Honey / maple
1 oven bag
Preparation:
1. It’s really easy to add jachnun to cholent, it doesn’t require any work. You just have to defrost the jachnun in advance.
2. Once the cholent pot is brimming with goodness and it’s time to place it in the oven, take the jachnun and arrange it in an oven bag in one layer and drizzle some honey on top and close the bag.
3. Place the bag on top of the cholent and close the lid and place it in the oven.
That’s all it takes. When the cholent is ready, so is the jachnun.
Easy, right?
