Mallawach and melted cheese pinwheels

Everyone has their own tricks to make their life easier. These pinwheels make such an easy meal. Kids young and old alike love them.
Have you found yourself with extra mouths to feed for supper and need something fast and easy? These pinwheels are a great solution. Serve them with some veggies and you’re good to go! Who doesn’t keep a package of mallawach in the freezer? Two minutes to prepare and the oven does the rest.
I tweaked the recipe. I make the roll and return to the freezer, and then when I want, I defrost for a few minutes, cut into slices and cook in the oven or pan.
A really simple recipe that everyone loves to eat. Make a lot, these go fast!

Ingredients:

As many mallawach as you want
Sliced / grated cheese of choice

Preparation:

1. Defrost the mallawach for around two minutes. I roll them out a bit but you don’t have to.

2. Preheat an oven to 180°C.

3. Place a slice of cheese on each mallawach and roll it up, then slice into 3-4 cm pinwheels and arrange on a baking tray. Bake for 20-15 minutes until the edges are golden.

4. Another faster option: Heat 3 Tbsp of oil in a pan and fry the pinwheels until golden. Flip and fry the other side until golden as well.

Served with fresh veggies, dried cherry tomatoes, veggies fritters, cream cheese, and pita breads

Good to know…
You can freeze these before baking. Each roll makes around 10 pinwheels.
