Sometimes it’s hard to believe that such easy recipes turn out so great!
Just imagine how incredibly delicious these parmesan sticks smell when they come out of the oven. The melted cheese and flaky dough make them totally irresistible and completely addictive.
They make a wonderful finger food, snack, or addition to any meal. I recommend making a lot, they go really fast.
They’re easy to prepare and even easier to devour. The result is crispy golden parmesan sticks full of gooey cheese. Yum!

600 grams puff pastry
80 grams grated cheese of choice
80 grams grated Parmesan cheese
3 Tbsp chopped chives
Ground black pepper
Pinch of rock salt
1 egg, beaten
1. Unroll the dough and spread the cheeses, black pepper, a bit of rock salt and chopped chives over half. Lay the other half on top and roll out using a rolling pin. Place in the freezer for 10 minutes.
2. Using a pizza cutter, cut into 4 mm strips and place in the freezer for 10 minutes. Take a strip and fold in half. If it’s too stiff, wait a few minutes for it to soften, and then twist the two halves around each other and transfer to a baking tray.
3. Heat an oven to 180 degrees Celsius and brush with the beaten egg. Sprinle with sesame seeds and bake for 20 minutes until the sticks are golden.
Good to know…
Puff pastry defrosts quickly. The strips may stretch out, which is fine, but if you find them hard to work with, freeze for a few minutes.
