


Pear cake
You don’t need any fancy equipment, just mix by hand and pop it into the oven. Only 10 minutes of preparation and the oven does the rest. In 45 minutes you’ll have a fresh out of the oven cake on your table. An easy and delicious homemade cake that you’ll make again and again.
Round 24 cm pan
Ingredients:
3 large eggs
200 grams sugar (1 cup)
3-4 large pears
2 Tbsp honey
60 grams sugar (1/4 cup)
60 ml water (1/4 cup)
180 ml oil (3/4 cup)
60 ml grape juice / red wine
1 tsp cinnamon
280 grams flour (2 cups)
2 tsp baking powder
Preparation:
1. Preheat an oven to 180°C.
2. Finely dice the pears, no need to peel them first. Place in a small pot / pan with water, sugar and honey and cook for around two minutes, stirring occasionally. Add the diced pears and cook for around 5 minutes until softened, then remove from the heat.
3. Transfer the pears and the liquids to a bowl and wait two minutes, then add the eggs, sugar, oil, cinnamon, flour, and baking powder. Mix until well combined.
4. Evenly transfer the batter to a greased cake pan. Bake in the oven for around 45 minutes.
Good to know…
You can use apples instead of the pears. Freezer-friendly.
