Quick Flatbread
An amazing bread! It’s hard to believe that you can make such an incredible bread in only two minutes.
I love making this bread and always double the recipe because it doesn’t matter how much I make, it’s never enough. The bread comes out soft and golden with such a wonderful aroma wafting through the house.
I didn’t even turn on the oven to make this. So simple to make and what a wonderful result.
You can eat the bread as is, tear it into pieces and snack on it, spread with cheese and serve with vegetables as part of a good meal.
Some recipes you have to keep. Whenever I’m out of bread I make this recipe and it never disappoints.
Makes 10 pieces
Ingredients:
620 grams flour (4.5 cups minus 1 Tbsp)
11 grams dry yeast (1 Tbsp)OR 25 grams fresh yeast
1 heaped Tbsp sugar
3/4 Tbsp salt
120 ml oil (1/2 cup)
320 ml warm water (1 + 1/3 cups)
Preparation:
1. Place the flour, yeast, sugar, and salt in the bowl of a mixer, add the oil and water and mix on low speed until you get a soft smooth dough. Let rise for an hour and a half to two hours until the dough doubles in size.
2. Divide the dough into 10 pieces (100 grams). Roll each piece out into a small circle and close into a ball. Let rise again for 15-20 minutes until the balls double in size. You can skip the roll flat step and just roll into a ball.
3. Place the ball in a panini press and press shut. Bake until golden. If the press is too hot, turn it off and wait until it cools a bit before continuing. Only remove once the color is golden. If the bread is hard on the outside, it’s over-baked.
4. Another preparation option: Roll the ball into a 20 cm diameter circle, which should be smaller than the pan. Heat a pan with a bit of oil, brush the oil over the entire bottom of the pan and place the circle of dough on top. Fry until one side is golden, flip and fry until the other side is golden.
Good to know…
Freezer-friendly. You need a good panini press to bake dough. I recommend watching the video clip before you start making the bread.
