Rice for cholent in an oven bag
This is as easy as can get. Just add the rice to the cholent. The rice soaks up all the flavors of the cholent and comes out wonderfully. This is one of my kids’ favorites, and they always complain that there’s not enough. A great accompaniment to cholent.
2 cups Jasmine / Persian rice
2 cups warm water
2 Tbsp oil
2 tsp salt
1. Place the rice in a bowl and cover with warm water and a little bit more, and leave to soak for around half an hour.
2. Transfer to an oven bag along with the liquid, oil and salt, and close the bag.
3. Pierce the bag all over, preferably adjacent to the cholent and then quickly immerse in the cholent with only the top of the bag sticking out.
4. Prepare the cholent. Before serving, open the bag. The rice is wonderful.
