


Rice with lentils
The casserole with rice and green lentils is easy, tasty and healthy. Who said we needed meat in order to be satisfied? The excellent combination of rice, lentils and plenty of fried onion is even better.
Ingredients:
1 1/2 cups rice
1/3 cup green lentils
2 1/2 cups water (for the rice)
1 tsp. Turmeric
Diced black pepper
2 flat tsp. salt
Fried onion till yellow
Preparation:
1. Brew the lentils for two hours; boil water, add salt and cook them for 20 minutes.
2. In a pan put a bit of oil, stir-fry rice, add lentils, water and spices, covered and cook for 18 minutes and then wait for 10 minutes more with the covered pan.
3. Before serving, put fried onion on top.
