This is a speedy yet amazing recipe for homemade pizza. Adults and kids alike are crazy about this recipe at my house. It makes a quick and easy lunch or supper, even when you have guests.
Making the dough is the only real effort involved, the skillet does the rest.
I’ve already mentioned how much I love quick and easy recipes that taste great and look impressive. Definitely worth keeping in your recipe book.
You don’t have to tell everyone how easy this is. It can be our little secret! 😉
Makes 2 personal pizzas (20 cm diameter each)
210 grams flour (1.5 cups)
1 tsp dry yeast / 1/3 packet of fresh yeast
4 Tbsp olive oil
1/3 cup warm water + 3 Tbsp
1/2 tsp salt
Tomatoes, onion, corn, olives, mushrooms, grated cheese of choice
To double the amount for 4 personal pizzas, 20 cm diameter each
420 grams flour (3 cups)
10 grams dry yeast (1 Tbsp)
60 ml olive oil (1/4 cup)
220 ml warm water (1 cup minus 1 full Tbsp)
1 tsp salt
1. Process all the ingredients until you get a soft smooth dough. Let rise for around 30 minutes. On cold days, let rise for longer, around 1 hour.
2. Divide the dough in two. Roll each part into a ball, wait 5-6 minutes and roll out into a 20 cm base. It’s important that the size of the base matches the size of the skillet. If the base is too big, it won’t fit in the pan. If you have a smaller skillet, divide the dough into three balls and then the pizzas will be smaller.
3. Let the pizza bases rest for a few minutes while preparing all the pizza toppings.
4. Heat a skillet / pan with a full Tbsp of oil and place the base in the skillet. Fry until the bottom is golden and then flip over. Quickly spread with tomato sauce, cheese and toppings and fry until the bottom is golden and the cheese melts.
5. Preparation options:
*You can fry only one side and then remove from the pan and spread the toppings on the fried size and then return to the pan and cover until the pizza is ready. It’s less rushed this way.
*Preheat an oven to 180°C. After preparing one side of the pizza, remove from the heat and bake for 10-15 minutes.
