Split pea soup
This is one of the easiest soups I’ve made and it doesn’t compromise on flavor. Only one hour on the stove and it’s ready to be served.
Imagine the rain coming down outside and a nice bowl of this soup on the table. It reminds me a bit of the old-fashioned soups our grandmothers used to make.
I love winter, especially because it’s soup season, A great, easy and tasty recipe.
Makes 4 servings
Ingredients:
1.5 cups split peas
1 onion cut into small chunks
2 cloves of garlic
1 medium sweet potato cut into cubes
2 liters water
1 tsp paprika
1/2 tsp turmeric
Chicken bouillon
Ground black pepper
Salt
Preparation:
2. Chop the carrot into small cubes and add to the onion. Sauté for another two minutes and add the peas.
3. Cover the vegetables with water (a little bit more than the level of the vegetables in the pot), cook partially covered for around 3/4 of an hour on medium heat.
4. Transfer the soup to a blender or food processor or use an immersion blender and blend until smooth.
