The Best Baked Meatballs
These meatballs are incredible! A few years ago, I started baking meatballs instead of frying them. At first, I was skeptical that baked meatballs could compare in flavor to their fried counterparts. But I was totally wrong about that because baked meatballs are extremely tender, juicy, and delicious.
You’ll never believe that these meatballs are baked, not fried.
They’re so easy to make, the entire batch goes into the oven at the same time.
It took me less than 10 minutes to prepare and the oven did the rest. I’m sure you’re going to love these as much as I do.
Ingredients:
500 grams ground beef rib
2 medium onions
1 medium sweet potato
1/2 cup breadcrumbs / flour
1/2 tsp baking soda
1 egg
1/3 bunch parsley
Pinch of cinnamon (optional)
1 Tbsp chicken bouillon
Ground black pepper
Salt (if needed, to taste)
Preparation:
1. Cook the sweet potato until soft enough to mash. Drain and mash until smooth. Finely dice the onion, heat a pan with 2 Tbsp of oil and sauté the onion until golden.
2. Preheat an oven to 180°C. Line a baking tray with parchment paper, drizzle with around 3 Tbsp of oil and brush over the entire surface of the parchment paper.
3. Mix all the ingredients together. Chop the parsley and add to the meat. Form meatballs, flatten somewhat and arrange on the baking tray. Bake for 30 minutes, flip and bake for another 15 minutes.
Good to know…
You can make this the day before. Freezer-friendly. You can substitute regular potato for the sweet potato.
