Tomato and grits soup

Can you hear the rain outside? It’s time for a delicious soup. It’s a whole meal in one pot. It’s full of good flavors with extra vegetables and even groats, it’s supposed to make you full, right?
This soup is perfect for winter. I recommend serving it with slices of bread, so you can dip them in the soup for extra pleasure. Just so you know, it only takes a few minutes to make, that’s it.

3 – 4 Servings

Ingredients:

4 – 5 ripe, soft tomatoes
2 large carrots, diced
Onion, diced
2 cloves garlic, sliced
Medium potato, diced
A tablespoon of sweet chili sauce
5 cups of water
A third of a cup of pearl barley
A tablespoon of tomato paste

Spices:
A teaspoon of sugar
3/4 teaspoon of sweet paprika
A touch of cumin
1/3 teaspoon of hot paprika
2 tablespoons of stock
3/4 teaspoon of black pepper
Half a teaspoon of salt

Preparation:

1. Heat a medium pot with 4 tablespoons of oil. Start by frying the onion until lightly golden. Continue with the garlic, briefly frying. Add the rest of the vegetables and fry for about two minutes, making sure to stir.

3. Add the rest of the ingredients, including the spices and grits. Bring to a boil. Cover. Reduce heat to medium. Cook for about 40 minutes. Blend the soup.

4. Check for flavors and remove from heat.
