Tuna Bolognese
I love canned tuna and it’s something I always have in my pantry. Whenever I want protein but don’t feel like eating meat, or I want to make something interesting for lunch, I reach for the tuna. Almost everything I make with it is super simple and comes out really tasty.
Ten minutes is all it takes for this great pasta dish.
Makes 3-4 servings
Ingredients:
300 grams pasta
1 onion
320 grams canned tuna
2 cloves of garlic
2 carrots
1.5 cups water
100 grams tomato paste
1 tsp sugar
1 Tbsp ketchup
1 Tbsp sweet chili sauce
1 Tbsp paprika
1 Tbsp chicken bouillon
Ground black pepper
Salt (if needed, to taste)
Preparation:
1. Pour 3 Tbsp of oil into a heated pan. Finely dice the carrot and sauté for around 5 minutes while stirring.
2. Dice the onion and add to carrot, along with the garlic.
3. Add the other ingredients, except for the tuna. Season and cook for 10 minutes. Open the can of tuna, drain it, and add it to the pan, breaking it up and incorporating into the sauce for around two minutes. Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary.
*4. Cook the pasta according to the instructions on the package. Drain and then mix with the tuna. Wait a few minutes before serving and stir occasionally to ensure the pasta is coated well with the sauce.
