Yeast-Free pizza spirals
Is anyone not familiar with these small and tasty spirals? I usually make them from yeast dough but not this time. I made them using a yeast-free dough and I also added soft white cheese.
Golden crispy spirals that taste of tomato sauce with yellow cheese. Place a large plate in the middle of the table with a nice mound of these spirals. They’ll all be gone in 5 minutes. A simple and tasty recipe that is a great accompaniment to any meal.
Makes 40 spirals
Ingredients:
200 grams butter
200 grams 9% soft white cheese
1 tsp salt
350 grams self-raising flour (2.5 cups)
Preparation:
1. Take the butter out of the fridge 15-20 minutes beforehand. Place the butter, cheese, salt, and flour in the bowl of a mixer and work into a cold and slightly sticky dough. Refrigerate for 30 minutes.
2. Preheat an oven to 180°C.
3. Divide the dough into 4 pieces. Roll each piece out into a rectangle and spread ketchup / tomato sauce, then sprinkle toppings and grated cheese and roll up. Slice into 3-4 cm slices, arrange on a baking tray lined with parchment paper.
4. Bake for 20-25 minutes.
Good to know…
Freezer-friendly, no need for an egg wash. The spirals stay pale, only the bottoms go golden.
