Tahini Sauce Recipe
Making tahini is one of the simplest things in the world — it’s almost impossible to mess up. All you’ve got to do is just mix it. Everyone adjusts their tahini to their liking — whether it’s thick, liquid, with a bit more sourness, with more garlic or even without it.
Some people choose to just buy tahini, but for me — it’s a BIG no-no. It’s much better to make it at home, and also much cheaper. Its flavor is incredible and the texture is amazing.
You can taste the tahini and adjust it until you get to the perfect taste and texture.
And most importantly — tahini is healthy. Plus, it only takes 5 minutes to make.
2 – 3 Servings
Ingredients:
3/4 cup raw tahini
3/4 cup water
1 heaped tsp crushed garlic
Juice from half a lemon
Parsley
Ground black pepper
1/2 tsp salt
Pinch of paprika
Preparation:
1. One of the easiest ways to make tahini is to put the raw tahini in a food processor and add the water slowly until you get the desired consistency. If you like it thick, add more raw tahini. If you like it thin, add some more water. In other words, play around with it.
2. Transfer the tahini to a bowl and add 3-4 Tbsp of chopped parsley, minced garlic, lemon, salt and pepper.
3. Sprinkle a bit of paprika and some chopped parsley on top, and serve, preferably with pita and salad.
4. Don’t have a food processor? Mix the tahini and water in a bowl until you get your desired consistency, then add the other ingredients, and serve as suggested above.
