Egg in the Basket
The keyword is variety — I always look for different ways to diversify when making Aviv’s meals with a bunch of quick and easy recipes that Aviv will love. (Cereal is not real food.)
I think that all of us grew up on this lovely recipe, and even though years have passed, it’s still a total success every time.
The kids really love to see the yolk ooze out and it makes me smile.
If you’re looking for an activity for the kids, then this recipe is perfect for you — they can choose any shape they want to cut the bread with.
It turns out wonderfully with fresh vegetables and cheese.
Ingredients:
A slice of challah or a slice of bread, preferably square shaped
Egg
Salt
Preparation:
1.) Cut a hole in the middle of the bread piece and preheat a pan on medium heat with 3 tablespoons of oil. Fry the piece for a short time until it turns golden and carefully flip it. Then, Break the
egg into the hole.
2.) Fry the egg until it’s ready, place it on a plate and add some salt.
3.) Cut the middle.
