Tuna and Corn Patties Recipe
This is my favorite recipe — every time I don’t feel like making meat for lunch, I make these wonderful, soft tuna patties, full of vegetables and packed with good flavors. I also added some corn for the kids.
It’s just so easy to make — take 15 minutes and you’ll have amazing tuna patties for lunch. And if someone ever tells you that eating meat every day is a must, let them try these
tuna patties — trust me, they’ll change their mind.
17 Patties
Ingredients:
2 cans of tuna in oil/water, crumbled, each 160 g
Half a cup of canned corn
Egg
Onion, diced
Coarsely grated potato
Coarsely grated carrot
A tablespoon of ketchup
70 g of plain flour (half a cup)
Spices:
1/4 teaspoon of turmeric
Half a teaspoon of sugar
Half a teaspoon of black pepper
A teaspoon of salt
Preparation:
1. First, open the cans of tuna in small pieces, place them on the side of the sink and let the liquids drain to get rid of as much oil as possible.
2. Heat a frying pan with 2 tablespoons of oil, fry the onion cubes until golden brown, transfer to a bowl with the rest of the ingredients, including the crumbled tuna.
3. Mix all the ingredients, heat a frying pan with 4-5 tablespoons of oil, wet your hands and make patties, flatten gently, place in the hot oil and fry patiently until nicely golden on both sides.
4. Baking:
Preheat oven to 180 degrees, grease well, line baking paper, arrange the flat patties, bake for about 30 minutes, turn if difficult to turn, wait a few more minutes, then turn for another 15 minutes.
4. Place on absorbent paper and serve with fresh vegetables.
