Easy 30-Min Apple Crumble Recipe
There are some desserts that demand hours of fussing in the kitchen, and then there is this one. The Easy 30-Minute Apple Crumble is the ultimate proof that you don’t need to stress in order to indulge. This dessert smells warm, feels comforting, and is perfect for a cozy afternoon. Plus, it only requires about 30 minutes of your free time.
Sure, endless versions of this classic exist, but let’s be honest: who wants to wait for a very long time when you have a serious craving for something hot, sweet, and crunchy? That’s why I made this simple version. It perfectly delivers on everything you want: the soft, spiced apple layer underneath those crispy and buttery toppings — all made in record time.
This is the perfect recipe for a spontaneous Friday night dessert or just when you need something that looks stunning and tastes exactly like home. Just scoop a little vanilla ice cream on top while it’s still warm, and you’ll have a moment you’ll never forget.
2 – 3 Servings
Ingredients:
6 medium apples, peeled and cut into small cubes
3 tablespoons demerara brown sugar
1/4 cup maple syrup / honey / molasses
1 teaspoon cinnamon
Shortbread crumbs:
60 g cold butter, cut into cubes
100 g flour (half a cup + 3 tablespoons)
3 tablespoons sugar
To serve:
Sweetened cottage cheese
Strawberry jam
Vanilla ice cream
Chopped fruit
Preparation:
1.) Preheat the oven to 180°C/356°F.
2.) In a mixer bowl, place the cubed butter, flour, and sugar. Using the paddle attachment, process the ingredients into a crumbly dough and stop.
3.) Transfer the crumbs to a baking sheet, flatten evenly, bake for about 20 minutes and let them cool down. If necessary, lightly crumble the dough with your hands.
4.) Thoroughly mix the apple cubes with the date honey, cinnamon and brown sugar. Transfer the
mixture to a microwave-safe dish and cover it with plastic wrap. Cook on full power for about 8 minutes and let it cool down slightly.
5.) Transfer the prepared apple mixture to a serving dish (or individual portions). Generously
sprinkle the crispy crumble dough on top. I recommend serving warm alongside vanilla ice cream, sweetened white cheese, whipped cream, various fruits or even strawberry jam.
