Apple puree cake recipe
This is such an easy cake to bake, and it’s so delicious, moist, and golden, with the most amazing apple smell. I’m not sure what takes longer, the 5 minutes it takes to get it in the oven, or the time it takes for everyone to gobble it up!
Makes 1 English cake pan
2 small jars/cans of applesauce (130 grams each x 2)
200 grams sugar (1 cup)
120 ml oil (1/2 cup)
140 grams self-raising flour (1 cup)
1 tsp cinnamon
2 Tbsp of slivered almonds
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp brown sugar
1. Preheat an oven to 180°C.
2. Beat together the eggs and sugar with a fork for one minute, then add the other ingredients and mix with a spoon until combined.
3. Grease the English cake pan and pour the cake batter in.
*4. In a small bowl, mix together the almonds, sugar and cinnamon and sprinkle over the batter. Put it in the oven and bake for 40 minutes until the cake is springy to the touch and golden.
