I love mashed potatoes; it’s one of my favorite side dishes. Imagine creamy fluffy mashed potatoes served with a generous amount of fried onion on top, a perfect accompaniment to any main dish.
Makes 5 servings
3 Tbsp oil
1 tsp salt
Fried onion, fried mushrooms
1. Peel the potatoes and cut into large pieces. Fill a pot with water and bring to a boil. Put the potatoes in the boiling water and cook until tender, then drain.
2. Place the potatoes in a bowl and mash along with the oil and salt.
*3. Transfer the potatoes to a serving dish; sprinkle the fried onion on top. If you also like fried mushrooms, add it to the mashed potatoes as well.
Good to know…
If you prefer to let an appliance do the work, you can mash potatoes in a mixer with the paddle attachment on low speed until smooth and fluffy.
