Savory French Toast

I believe that the real magic of the kitchen is the simple recipes that I use every day,
the kind of recipes that only take 5 minutes to make.
I took the classic French toast that mothers and grandmothers used to make and gave it an upgrade.
Aviv takes his first bite and I can hear him saying: “Wow, this is so delicious”. I didn’t make the French toast sweet, because I wanted to make something that will be suitable for breakfast/dinner with cheese, fish and vegetables.
Trust me, the dish you see in the pictures turned out amazing. Aviv ate it all in under 10 minutes. There was nothing left and I got a kiss and a hug. A tip for parents: Take 5 minutes and make a wonderful dish for your family. I recommend making a lot because it gets eaten very quickly.

Ingredients:

5 slices of challah
L egg
3 tablespoons milk
Half a teaspoon of crushed garlic
3 tablespoons of chopped parsley/cilantro (optional)
Pinch of turmeric (tip of a teaspoon)
1/4 teaspoon of A. Soup (optional)
A touch of black pepper (a little more is possible)
Salt

Preparation:

2. In a deep plate, beat the egg, parsley, milk, garlic and spices, heat a wide pan with oil, briefly dip the challah on both sides and place in the hot oil.

3. Fry until golden brown. I recommend not going anywhere because it happens quickly, turn and continue frying until golden brown. Place on absorbent paper and from there slide onto a plate next to the vegetables.

4. Serve hot with fresh vegetables, salty cheeses, black olives and herring.
