Chicken Meatballs In Yellow Sauce

You know that I’m always looking for ways to make my life easier in the kitchen, right? I always have cooked meatballs in the freezer, it makes my life easier and takes the pressure off when I have to get a meal on the table.
One of my favorite dishes to make is meatballs in yellow sauce with herbs. I add potatoes, serve it with white rice, and I have a delicious meal for the family. It all started with meatballs that I had in the freezer (that’s just between us, ok?).
Drop everything and make this recipe, you won’t regret it!


500 grams ground chicken
1 carrot
1 potato
1 tsp minced garlic
1/2 tsp baking soda
(total of 1/2 cup fresh herbs)
1 onion, chopped
1/2 tsp turmeric
1 Tbsp chicken bouillon
Ground black pepper
Salt, if needed

For the yellow sauce:
1 onion
4 potatoes, diced
2 – 3 cups water
4 cloves of garlic
1/2 tsp flour
1 tsp turmeric
1/3 tsp crushed chili flakes
1 Tbsp chicken bouillon
Ground black pepper
Salt (if necessary, to taste)


1. To prepare the meatballs:
Chop the onion. Add 2 Tbsp of oil to a pan and add the onion. Sauté until golden, stirring occasionally.

2. Grate the potato and carrot and chop the herbs and mix all the ingredients, including the onion, to form meatballs, and refrigerate.

3. To prepare the sauce: Use the same pan and add enough oil to cover the bottom. Add the potatoes and sauté a few minutes while stirring.

4. Chop the onion and slice the garlic and add to the potatoes, sauté while stirring for a few minutes. Mix 1/4 cup water with the flour and add with the other ingredients. Chop 3 Tbsp of parsley and add to the pan. Cook until the potatoes are tender.

*5. If the meatballs are already cooked, add them to the sauce and cook for 15 minutes. If they aren’t cooked yet, cook in the sauce for 25 minutes.
